Scientific Principles

Scientific principles

Science-led, not agenda-led.

LeafTide does not believe every site should become woodland. Every restoration project begins with one simple question: What ecosystem would naturally thrive here?

Principle

Right habitat. Right place. Lasting impact.

Every project is researched before work begins, taking into account ecology, biodiversity, soil, water, climate resilience and the needs of local wildlife and communities.

Possible outcomes may include native woodland, wildflower meadows, wetlands, ponds, hedgerows, pollinator habitats, river restoration, natural regeneration or mixed habitats.

The goal is not to maximise the number of trees planted. The goal is to restore healthy ecosystems that naturally cool the planet, increase biodiversity and provide long-term environmental benefits.
